Stella is one of the foremost private labels of Switzerland. Although Switzerland has no shortage of chocolate factories, few can claim to be as environmentally friendly as Stella. On their own volition they implemented a water and energy system in 1982, years before “going green” became stylish. As a result, drinking water used is up to 96% less than other factories, and foreign energy consumption is 22% lower than most other Swiss chocolate factories. Although Stella offers a wide variety of flavors and types of chocolate types, of particular note is their use of the baobab fruit from Africa. This new “superfood” has high amounts of calcium and vitamin C, and goes especially well with Stella’s dark chocolate.
