Originating from an area the Romans called the Volcani Vicus, village of volcanoes.

(The Massif Central in France to you and me). But as the centuries passed, the locals forgot that the nearby mountains were dormant volcanoes. It wasn’t until 1962, that the volcanic secret of the water was re-discovered. Volvic water is created by rainwater that flows underground.

But not just through any old rock. Oh no. Volvic travels through hundreds of metres of volcanic material. It filters through 6 layers of porous rock. Each layer is the result of a volcano erupting. So by the time the water hits the impermeable granite bed at the bottom, it’s picked up its Volcanicity.
