Bergamot oil is expressed from the nearly-ripe fruit of the Bergamot tree, which is part of the citrus family. It is a delicate clear-pale yellow oil with a sweet, fresh and fruity odour. For your safety we have removed the naturally occurring photosensitising agent, Bergaptene, through re-distillation. Bergamot is an uplifting and refreshing oil and used on its own it has a stimulating effect. However, when combined with relaxing oils such as lavender or sandalwood, it takes on a relaxing aspect. It is used traditionally to flavour Earl Grey tea and is sometimes described as the king of essential oils as it has been used in natural skin care products for years.

For use in perfume blends or for aromatherapy. Apply topically, as a compress, in the bath, directly inhale, or diffuse. May occasionally cause an adverse reaction, please carry out a patch test if you are unsure.
