Carley's Organic Seville Orange Spread 300g

A delicious no added sugar breakfast spread made in Cornwall from fresh organic seville oranges and and agave syrup. 

We make of Seville Spread from fresh Seville oranges (marmalade sour oranges) when they are in season, normally in January each year. 

The oranges are prepared by hand and chopped into fairly small pieces – removing and retaining the pips, before the peel is cooked in a small volume of boiling water for about 30 minutes, until the peel is soft. The orange pips are kept added in muslin cloth bags to the boiling pan, to let the natural pectin dissolve into the water. We then add agave syrup to sweeten the mix, and jar it hot. It then sets in the jar as it cools.

It makes a great distinctively sour breakfast spread, and can be used in dessert, sweet sauces etc.
