Dietary fibre is made up of both soluble and insoluble fibre. Flahavan' s Pinhead Oatmeal contains significant levels of soluble fibre. Most other types of cereals mainly contain insoluble fibre, but oats have a good balance of both. Recent research has shown that soluble fibre is helpful in lowering cholesterol when used as part of a low-fat diet. Flahavan' s Pinhead Oatmeal is a chopped Wholegrain Oat, suitable as a more traditional porridge or ideal as an ingredient in home baking. Pinhead Oatmeal can be added to Brown Bread, Biscuits, Soups and many other recipes to add that extra bit of texture and 'bite'.
