Brown rice vinegar is a Japanese condiment produced from fermented rice. This organic brown rice vinegar from Clearpsring is traditionally produced in buried earthenware crocks, and is specially produced for Clearspring by the Maruboshi Company in Kyushu, Japan.

Brown rice vinegar is used in a similar manner to any other vinegar, and particularly in Japanese dishes. It is slightly sweeter and less acidic than European vinegars, and is a good basis for sweet and sour dips and dressings, particularly when mixed with a little soy sauce. Adding brown rice to a stir-fry will always impart extra flavour and authentic Japanese taste.
